The proven patriarch of this line is the James who married Helen Goodfellow, however it looks likely that James is the son of George and Janet (Murray) Fairbairn, which is how I've shown them here. This lineage, together with those currenlty labelled 1b and 1c are all a closer dna match to each other than to those in lineage 1 itself, but all connected somehow.
