| Intro | Family rumour for the William (who married Jean Wanless) is that he had a brother Thomas. Both William, and Thomas the patriarch of this line, worked on the Rideau canal in the early 1800s, but that's the nearest to documented evidence of a connection to date. Preliminary results showed an 11/12 marker match between the two representatives of these lines, but subsequent results showed that although William and F-8 are highly likely to share a common ancestor, the relationship doesn't look like it would be as close as Thomas and William being brothers. And rather interestingly, there is a much closer relationship shown with lineages 1a and 1b. |
