David Fairbairn (F-7)
#1360
| Father | Leslie Fairbairn (1916 - 1991) |
| Lineage (Testee) | David was found to be part of Fairbairn Lineage 1b, see here for chart. |
| Link2HaploGrpInfo (Group) | Click here to see those sharing David's haplogroup (I1 - test M253+). |
| Researcher (Researcher) | David is researching the line of Trotter Fairbairn **. Email: David (email current as at Jan 2009). |
| GeneticDistance (Testee37Markers) | At 37 markers the theoretical Genetic Distance (GD) calculations from David show: 2 to (F-8); 3 to Doug(GOODFELLOW) and Tom; 4 to David(CAMPBELL) and Joe; 6 to Martin; 7 to Earl and Roy; 9 to William. |
| GeneticDistance (Testee67Markers) | At 67 markers the theoretical Genetic Distance (GD) calculations from David show: 2 to (F-8); 4 to Joe and (Elliott); 5 to Mike(IRWIN); 6 to John(JOHNSTON) and David(CAMPBELL); 7 to Doug(GOODFELLOW); 8 to Martin and Michael(Simpson); 9 to Michael, Earl, Roy, Tom and (F-11); more than 9 to Doug(BLAKEY) and William (with some of the mis-matches on faster mutating markers and thus reducing the stated GD; As (F-8)'s GD of 2 from David (Trotter) F-7 includes one marker unique to (F-8) over all of Lineage 1, it looks a fair bet that David (Trotter) F-7 and (F-8)'s forebears were closely related, along with (Eckford:F-27). |
| Summary (Witness) | We now have the preliminary dna results in for William (F-12), a documented descendant of John A Fairbairn Snr of Stillwater, Washington Co, MN, with Bill is indeed showing as an excellent match to Roy (F-3), the descendant of John's uncle William (phew!) The relationship to the other side of the Hoquiam triangle is rather murkier however as the representative of the Sunderland side of the triangle, Joe (F-10), belongs to "clump 2" of lineage 1. Still related, but how? With the full 67 marker results in, it rather looks like the 3rd side of the triangle represented by Joe (F-10), is showing marginally closer relationships with the lines of Thomas Fairbairn (marr. Elspeth Redpath), John Fairbairn (marr. Helen Campbell) and Trotter (marr. Jane Fairbairn) Fairbairn) lines. The expected relations above come a close second. The stated Genetic Distances of 5 for the lines of Thomas (REDPATH) and John (CAMPBELL) and 6/7, the John (FLINT) lines, can probably be marked one less because of the faster mutating markers involved. |
