| Intro |
The proven patriarch of this line is the Robert who married Elizabeth Young in Blantyre, Lanarkshire in 1847, however it looks likely that Robert had been married before as there was a John with them who considerably pre-dates that marriage. Robert was an engineer/surveyor for the Duke of Hamilton in the late 1840s but is assumed to have moved to Liverpool by at least 1854 as son George was born there. Family subsequently turn up in London (Bow, Poplar etc) but the fate of Robert is as yet unknown, as are any hints as to which of the dna related Scottish Borders FAIRBAIRN families he belongs too. |
