Tom Fairbairn (F-13)
#5594
| Father | Andrew Fairbairn |
| Mother | Verna Mae Leirich |
| Y-DNA Detail | 534 = 19 (s) is unique to Tom, with his "cousin" Doug having the more common 534 = 17 (q). |
| Lineage (ConfirmedPaperTrail) | The research paper trail for Tom, confirmed by dna testing, shows him to be part of Fairbairn Lineage 1a. (See here for chart.) |
| GeneticDistance (Testee) | At 12 markers the theoretical Genetic Distance (GD) calculations from Tom show: zero to Doug, David, David, (F-8) and Joe; 1 to Martin, Roy, Earl and William; (as expected given the paper trail between Tom (F-13) and Doug (F-6). |
| GeneticDistance (Testee) | At 25 markers the theoretical Genetic Distance (GD) calculations from Tom show: zero to Doug, David, David and Joe; 1 to (F-8), Martin, Roy and Earl; 2 to William. |
| GeneticDistance (Testee37Markers) | At 37 markers the theoretical Genetic Distance (GD) calculations from Tom show: zero to Doug; 1 to David; 2 to Ron; 3 to (F-8), John(JOHNSTON), Joe, David and Martin; 4 to Earl, Roy and Michael; 5 to Doug(BLAKEY); 6 to William; the exact match being fully expected given their shared ancestor, James (marr. to Helen Goodfellow) is the 4th generation from Doug and 5th from Tom. Interesting the difference between 25 marker matches and 37 ones as the matches get more distant with the increased information, although many of the "slips" in closeness are actually on markers specific to an individual line, eg (F-8)'s 447 = 21, which only his line has, etc. |
| GeneticDistance (Testee67Markers) | At 67 markers the theoretical Genetic Distance (GD) calculations from Tom show: 2 to Doug(GOODFELLOW); 7 to David(CAMPBELL); 9 to (F-8) and Joe; more than 9 to Roy, Earl, Martin and William (with some of the mis-matches on faster mutating markers and thus reducing the stated GD; the exact match from the earlier tests has slipped to a GD of 2 from Doug (F-6) as marker 534 = 19, a unique value over all of lineage 1, compared to Doug's 17, shared with (F-8) and Martin (F-1). Which probably means we can discount this down a notch from the GDs of 2, 7, 9,10,11 shown as theory. |
