DNA LineagesHaplogroup R1b1 Lineages Intro:
Haplogroup R1b1 participants belong to distinct RUNCIMAN families from the Scottish Borders, a separate haplotype (R1b1+) from the "Wanton Walls" (I1) lines.
This dna project has resulted in two separated branches of the main RUNCIMAN family (Lineage 2a) to be re-united, testing having proven that Don (R-3)'s American line is indeed genetically linked to the documented descendants of James and Agnes (HERRIOT) RUNCIMAN in New Zealand.

It is assumed that those markers differing from the mode and occurring only on one line, are indicative of that particular lineage.
Although we only have one participant per line it does rather look like:
390 = 27 signifies the branch of John and Janet (INGLIS) RUNCIMAN
439 = 10 the line of Thomas and Isabella (LINTON) RUNCIMAN
458 = 19 that of the George and Elizabeth (DALGLEISH) RUNCIMAN
all sons of James and Agnes (HERRIOT) RUNCIMAN
